What is a solar panel?
Solar panel is a device that converts sunlight into electrical energy. They are made of silicon-based semiconductor materials, often called photovoltaic cells. The solar panel captures sunlight and produces electricity in the photovoltaic cells inside. This electricity can then be used or stored as electrical energy by the user.
Solar panels are generally positioned on rooftops, fields or other open areas to be most exposed to sunlight. Solar panel systems help reduce dependence on fossil fuels by converting solar energy, an environmentally friendly and renewable energy source, into electrical energy.
